Align Technology Program Specialist interview questions

I applied and received an e-mail for a phone screening a day after the application was submitted. Set up the interview for the next week at 11AM. On the day of the interview, at 10:45AM receive an e-mail from the person who set up the interview saying that they needed to cancel because they hired within. I find it hard to believe that prior to the 15 mins before the interview, they did not know they were hiring someone. I wasted time preparing and if that is how the company is run then I want no part of it.
