I applied for this position through their portal, which specified that there were multiple locations to choose (my desired one was Nice but I was open also to Madrid). I was contacted by HR, which scheduled a first call 1 week later. It went well so (two weeks later) I took part in a 90 minutes interview with the same HR recruiter and the manager for the position I applied for. I had to answer to personal as well as analytical questions (e.g. market sizing). They told me to wait for a response until the following week (mind you, this was already one month in the process). I waited and did not get anything, so I contacted the recruiter; she told me that I passed both steps and the manager really saw my profile as aligned with the demand but preferred to have someone in Madrid as he worked there, and that he would have liked to sponsor me for another position because they would have liked to insert me in Amadeus. I then replied with the new position I applied for (Strategy Analyst / Senior Analyst) and no answer, not even a call for that role. Two weeks after I asked for an update to the recruiter and she told me that she referred me (not even the manager anymore) and that it was on her French colleagues without verifying if there were any issues or if I had been rejected. My application is still "in progress" even though two months have gone by and I have never been contacted.
I guess it would have been more correct to just say no, without getting my hopes up and then disappearing.
This latter part of the recruiting process really ruined my opinion about the company and their HR's respect for other individuals.
