They saw my profile from LinkedIn.com and contacted me first. They suggested me to interview and adjusted schedule. I didn't have any phone interview. They called a few times, however, those were a simple check for my experience, education, etc. and they provide interview prep tips. There were four interviewers, each of them took about 50 minutes, and the all the interview took 4 hours. First interviewer asked about my experience and ask simple algorithm, data structure, etc. Second interviewer asked to solve 2 quiz. Third interviewer asked some object-oriented topic. Forth interviewer asked to design some system.
After a week, they offered.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Write a code to traverse a tree without recursion.
I had 4 phone interviews with them. 45 minutes each. I was asked with general questions like introduce myself, what I have done previously other than projects from university. Then moved on to typical coding questions. Some of them were fairly easy, just some algorithms and data structure questions. And i was given a problem to code online as well. Although they were easy, I stumbled a little, and did not get the offer.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
I applied online through their career's portal and got a call within a week. Recruiter asked me few questions and described me how the interview process works then give me sample questions to prepare. After that I got a phone interview with one of the team member where I applied to work. He asked fairly normal question (compared to the interview question) and also give me few hints to solve. After my I ran out of time he gave me correct solution and reasons that why my solution won't scale and work in bigger datasets.
