I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Madrid) in Sep 2023
Interview
I applied for the position in August, and in the LinkedIn job ad, it says the position is open to candidates outside of Madrid. At the very first step of online application, I checked the box of "living in Barcelona" and "not willing to relocation". And they let me pass the resume screening and online test. However, in the phone interview with hiring manager, she said that the team is based in Madrid and she's totally unaware of the job ad mentioning the recruitment of candidates outside of Madrid. After the interview, I received an email from the recruiter asking me the same questions during the first step of online application as whether I'm holding a work permit in Spain. When I asked him if this job is based is Madrid, he finally started to realize the mistake and asked me if I still want to continue the application. The whole process lasted one month, which turned out to be a total loss of time because of the unprofessionalism of the recruiter and the lack of communication between the hiring team and the recruitibg team.
