They pay expenses for you to come to their facilities. Starts with a tour of the fulfillment center (warehouse) followed by three 45 minute interviews. It was just one person interviewing you in each. They let you know if they want to continue the hiring process in about a week by phone call.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Jan 2017
Interview
Telephone interview followed by another telephone interview.
Fist interview was pretty straightforward but I struggle with second one because of the interviewers very strong accent. I kept having to ask him to repeat himself as I simply couldn't understand him. It also sounded like he was in a cathedral because it was very echoey (is that a real word?) I suspect I was on speakerphone and there may have been more than one person in the room, but he didn't advise me of that.
Based on the questions and the difficulty in some f the answers I thought I had bombed it, so was surprised to get through to stage 3 - which I cannot talk about because I signed a non disclosure agreement.
I was eventually offered a position but it was night shift only for 12 months and there was no flexibility. Shifts were 11.5hours, Wed to Sat an they have this crazy system of calculating leave by the hour. This meant that if I worked 8 hours/day Mon-Fri I would get 33 days a year, but by working more hours in 4 days I only got 26.5 days a year.
I made my mind up at the FC visit that this wasn't for me and withdrew my application. If I had had taken a job at Amazon I suspect I would have burnt myself out in less than a year and I would not have seen my family for most of that time. The work/life balance just wasn't there for me.
