I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Amazon (Doncaster, England) in Feb 2016
Interview
The process took two weeks. One video interview and then on site interview. The video interview was mainly questions about basic skills and CV. It was about 30 mins. Then the on site interview was 4x45 mins interview with different people from different backgrounds (HR, Operations Manager, Senior Operations...)
I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Mar 2016
Interview
The entire process was about 8 weeks. After applying a recruiter checks your resume and if you make it to the next round you are contacted. I was contacted by a recruiter to set up a phone interview in the evening hours. My first interviewer never called me so I had to reschedule. Standard questions were asked on the phone and a short math problem was given. After my phone interview I heard back that I was moving on to in person interviews at a distribution facility. I was sent a list of case study questions I needed to answer and send to my recruiter prior to the in person interviews. That event consisted of a 45 minute tour of the building. We were then taken to a room and given 15 minutes to complete a math problem and fill in blanks on a chart. The rest of the interview was 4+ hours of interviews with various HR managers, operations managers, and senior operations managers. Each person asked standard questions and took a piece of the information you provided. One interviewer reviewed your math answers and then gave follow up problems. Another interviewer discussed our responses on the case study questions.
One thing I'll say is that there are a lot of recruiters in contact with you. I can count 4 or 5 different people reaching out to me at different times for different reasons throughout the process. It can be confusing. You speak to one person then randomly another will reach out to you. Then a few days later another person is reaching out to you. It's a little strange.
Amazon has high standards and encourage you to be independent and a problem solver. It appears it can be very stressful at time but the pay scale reflects the demands of the job.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were multiple math problems throughout the process.
It started with a basic math flow question (similar to the practice one they give you in the info packet once you get offered the interview) followed by two one-on-one interviews composed of behavioural questions ("Tell me about a time when...").
