Interview
Amazon uses Targeted Selection® behavioral interviewing technique. and the STAR method. They sent an email with a link that evaluates your computer to make sure it measures up to the standards. As you use your personal computer for the job. They also send you a pre evaluation you complete on the computer. Then if your computer is up to standards and you pass the pre eval then you will get a phone interview. If that goes well they will hire you with no face to face interview since you are working from home.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Winchester, KY) in Oct 2013
Interview
I applied online. I received an email immediately to take an exam. The exam consisted of listening to customer calls and describing how you would handle the situation. After taking the exam, I immediately got a contingent offer email.
I was selected to come to a "hiring event," which consisted of a lot of people in one room being offered the position and choosing their schedules.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Amazon (Huntington, WV) in Apr 2012
Interview
Submitted an application..... Went for an interview. First part was a skills test. You had to be able to cut and paste a document. You had to be able to have multiple screens open and look up specific information. Once you passed the skills test, you had a face to face interview which was maybe 15 minutes long. Very easy, very basic.
