I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Sep 2011
Interview
Had 2 phone interviews with hiring team. The first interview was interesting where the interviewer asked behavioral questions, market dynamics question, design problem and overall went deep into specific areas that I had experience in. At the end of the interview I felt that I probably did not do well and will probably not move ahead, but to my surprise 3 days later they called and said the first went well and so they want to set me up for a follow up with another person. This person asked domain specific questions, had a very lively discussion on the specific work experience I had. Overall at the end of the interview it felt that I did well and the interviewer also seemed to provide similar vibe. But after 2-3 weeks of follow up and being told they were busy etc, I was told that I did not make it. It was disappointing. My experience overall has been that there is no consistent way to approach the Amazon interview process nor set expectations based on the interview itself. The recruiting team is very lax in follow up and there is a strange process of not disclosing the name of the interviewer prior to the interview (they only give first name - say like joe or john)

Question 1
What aspect of your professional life/experience does not show up on the resume?
It had 6 rounds- heavily focussed on leadership principles. they really do cross question almost every other example.......... You get multiple interviewers across the organisation. I thought- the questions were repetitive after one point.
