      Program Manager Interview

      Feb 6, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon in Feb 2022

      Interview

I was initially contacted by a recruiter, did an online assessment, had a 45 minute phone interview with 2 team members, and the final step in the process is a loop interview with 5 team members (each lasting about an hour long). I was asked about 3 questions in the phone screen and 3-5 per person during the loop interview. The loop interview was very repetitive in terms of process. Small talk, they tell you what to expect, they tell you about themselves, you tell them about yourself, they ask the structured questions and probing follow up questions and finally you get the last few minutes to ask them questions. You do this over and over again with every interviewer. Their interview process is long and draining. If you want a shot at getting an offer, you will have to invest a good chunk of time in preparation. My suggestions would be to answer all questions in STAR format, have a list of past experiences prepared which include metrics that demonstrate scope and impact. Be prepared for them to ask probing questions after your responses. Have an idea of which LPs might be most important to the role and team you're interviewing for. If you really want the job, it might be worthwhile to invest in one of those interview prep courses.

      Question 1

Tell me about a time you did something innovative? Tell me about a time you exceeded expectations? Tell me about a time you had to make a decision without having all the information? Tell me about a time about a time when you were working on an initiative and saw an opportunity to do something bigger or better than the initial focus?

      Interview

The process took a very long time and after 4 rounds of interviwes I got only an auto rejection email. The company check only the Leadership principles, and it looks like they don't have an interest in smth else. Anyway people were nice, the case study was interesting as well.

      Interview

very standard. the interviewers had a set of questions to ask about the LPs so we can anticipate beforehand. But I think I got ghosted in the end. One of the interviewers told me about the 2 & 5 rule but its been more than 2 weeks since my last interview and still no response from anyone so idk what happened.
