I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Aug 2022
Interview
15 min with recruiter, 1 hour technical interview, didn't make it to last round (supposedly another hour with managers about leadership abilities). They're looking for experienced software developers who know some cloud and not experienced cloud engineers who know some coding. This was really surprising considering the job posting only wanted 2 years experience in object oriented programming. I felt a little misled by that. If you haven't developed a pipeline end to end on your own that stores data in an array or hash as it goes, don't bother applying.
Yeah, it went well! They mainly asked about core DevOps fundamentals and a few AWS cloud-related concepts — nothing too tricky, just straightforward questions.
The interview went quite well! They focused mostly on DevOps fundamentals such as CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes, along with some AWS cloud concepts like EC2, S3, and IAM. Overall, it was straightforward and conversational
