I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
Referred by a friend and had a great conversation with the hiring manager. The recruiters were nice to work with.
Had my first interview and the guy was incredibly rude. He didn’t bother to do an introduction and jumped straight to his list of prepared questions. During my responses, he was impatient and kept interrupting me. He clearly thought the interview was a waste of his time.
I had higher expectations for Amazon and was pretty disappointed…
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY)
Interview
I heard a lot of things about Amazon not respecting candidates and employees, but I thought people exaggerated until I went through the interview process.
I successfully passed the phone interview and was sent to the final round. I was given a few weeks to prepare and was asked to provide a written exercise. I spent this time preparing for the interview and the written exercise and scheduled a day off for the interview. The night before, a recruiter sent me an email (no phone call) and told me that the position is closed and that my interview is canceled and didn't respond to my request for clarifications. I wasted weeks preparing, took days off, declined other interviews with other companies to focus on this one, and in the end, they canceled my final interview last minute without any valid reason.
If you value your time and want to be treated with respect, don't waste your time going through this interview process. there are many other tech companies that value their candidates and employees.
