The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon in May 2010
Interview
Initially contacted by an Amazon recruiter who passed me to another recruiter who arranged a series of phone interviews (four total). Each person had a relaxed and unique interview style. The face to face interview took 4 hours and included four people each interviewing separately. Very focused on leadership experience and problem solvinng.

Question 1
What has been your 'home run' with your current job?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Mar 2010
Interview
Applied online and got an email from recruiter in less than a week. Recruiter asked me if I am still interested in the position and if it's ok to move forward with the hiring process since it requires relocation.
Set up 1st phone interview with the hiring manager. The call took about one hour. It was quite stressful, asked a lot of scenario and behavioral questions. Hiring manager talked in a really fast manner and really tried to get to the bottom of your answers. I think they did that on purpose, to test if you can remain calm under pressure. After 3 days, recruiter sent me an email and wanted me to talk to another person on the team.
2nd phone interview was more relax. Again, many questions about past experience. I was given a few test questions about operations, and needed to solve them over the phone. It wasn't so bad. I think it's important to show that you are not afraid to solve a problem even though if you are not familiar with the topic. Need to show them the reasons behind your decisions. 4 days later, recruiter emailed me again for a 3rd phone interview.
3rd phone interview was hosted by a manager from cross functional team. Interviewer was straight forward and told me to answers some questions. Again, need to keep cool and show them your logic. I did my best to answer the questions.
3 days later, recruiter emailed me to set up an on-site interview. On-site interview hasn't happened yet. Overall, pleasant interviews, nice interviewers and recruiter. Seems like they have it together, move pretty fast in the interview process.

Question 1
Why do you want to work for Amazon? The hiring manager has asked this question a few times!
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Amazon in Apr 2009
Interview
Consisted of 2 one on one interviews .They asked mostly behavioral questions. They try to stress you out a lot to judge if you can keep your cool under pressure. They can ask very specific details about the behavioral answers There is a lot of focus on people management. They might also ask about process improvement experience or knowledge. Overall, very professional and was a good interview experience.
