Process:
1. HR phone screen (at least one)
2. Senior Ops Phone screen (behavioral based with math test)
3. Onsite interview (behavioral based with math test), included four 30min interviews.
Amazon follows an interview template. There will be a lot of writing down what you say into their template. This is a big focus.
None of the personnel I interviewed with worked at the facility for which I was interviewing.
There were approximately 9 applicants for the onsite interview.
There is a lot of over overlap in the questions and process. It felt like some of the interviewers were distracted by this very discrete process. My answers were logged vice discussed in some cases. Felt a bit mechanical.
The HR process was very slow. From my initial application(s), to speaking with a person, to getting in queue for a position took many months. The process really made me question whether this was a good fit.
On the flip side, the folks I met were courteous, intelligent and seemed motivated about their work.
After the interview, I was told something would be forthcoming but nothing has so I've decided to look elsewhere.
Amazon looks like it could be an interesting place to work. The process they run potential candidates through was a turn-off for me. Recruiting, in my opinion, has two customers. One is the company and one is the candidate. Both need to be able to evaluate the other to determine if there is a good fit. Amazon's process felt very one-sided. Maybe this is what they want...
