I applied through college or university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Amazon in Dec 2009
Interview
I am currently pursuing my MBA and this interview was through the school campus. I interviewed with them as well as several other companies. The best advice I have is getting the right job is all about fit. Research the company and the position you are seeking very well. Understand the skills that will be useful for the position and have a well prepared "story" about your prior experience and how what you have learned there will help you in the new position.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Amazon in Jun 2010
Interview
Met HR Manager at HR Conference in San Diego. Made contact with him via email and he asked for my resume following a few questions including whether I was open to relocating. Received a follow-up email to set up a 45 min interview over the phone. Interview went well, more of a feeling out interview. Have a second phone interview with another HR Manager.
The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon in May 2010
Interview
Initially contacted by an Amazon recruiter who passed me to another recruiter who arranged a series of phone interviews (four total). Each person had a relaxed and unique interview style. The face to face interview took 4 hours and included four people each interviewing separately. Very focused on leadership experience and problem solvinng.
