I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Luxembourg)
Interview
The worst interview process I ever had was for Amazon's Luxembourg office - due to its extremely time-consuming and a highly secretive and non-transparent process.
The demands on candidate's time are exorbitant, with a necessity to take several days off.
However, Amazon wouldn't even let candidates see their own online test records which are held top secret. The fact of withholding results is *not* communicated prior to taking any test which ex post looks like an intentional and a rather bizarre strategy to deprive candidates from the very start to access any of their own records.
Most of people have passed various tests like GMAT, SAT etc etc but with Amazon a candidate is denied an access to her/his own test results.
On the other hand, Amazon keeps candidates' interview records for an undisclosed amount of time, claiming "legitimate" rights for that.
All the above can not but raise more questions about the process, data privacy, data use etc - something that Amazon is actually trying to avoid at all costs as a disclosure.
The last, but not least is that HR interviewers are former policemen, and that naturally leads to an interrogation instead of an interview. They will literally put every word that comes out of your mouth in doubt, judging you guilty irrespective of your answers. You will feel like being in a police station, too.
Finally, there won't be *any* feedback (except a standard 'thank you for your time') after these numerous interviews and tests.

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Amazon in Jun 2020
Interview
The interview process was very thorough. Everyone wanted to get a good idea of my past accomplishments and how they tied to the leadership principals. There were some repeat questions throughout the whole interview though. I think they could have done a better job coordinating who is going to ask what versus making someone repeat themselves.
