I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY) in Mar 2020
Interview
Really good communication, interviewers were laid back and fun to talk to. Questions were realistic and relatively deep. Very strong focus on behavioral and writing clean and maintainable code.
Recruiter reached out mentioning he got my info from a manager at a company I worked for. Set up a time for an interview
Had Phone Interview
They reached out again in a few days to set up a time for a virtual onsite
Virtual onsite was 2 weeks from then. They were very flexible
Onsite was 4 rounds bound by NDA
Received feedback of a down level - I had 3 years experience but the role I was interviewing required 4
Still received above expectations for pay

I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Apr 2018
Interview
Two online technical 'leetcode' style interviews with 2 technical coding questions each followed by a personal interview done remotely with an SDE in the Seattle office. All contact was relatively prompt and outside of the final interview it was very clear whether or not my application was moving forwards or not.
