I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Pune) in Jul 2019
Interview
Didn't expect such type of recruitment process at a company like Amazon. Initially, they floated an online form in which they asked the candidate's preferred date and venue for the interview.
I filled the place as Delhi and instead got interviewed at Pune and my friend had filled Pune and got interviewed at Delhi. This was very much annoying as Amazon didn't care about a candidate's choice and just distributed students randomly to all places.
And coming to the interview, a very unprofessional approach was followed. Please don't look at interview preparation tips on their website as they themselves don't care about them. I was judged based upon only 1 question. That's it!
The interviewer was not at all supportive, didn't have any discussion and wasn't ready to accept any other solution than the one he had in his mind.

Interview
2 online assessments and 1 video call interview. Smooth interview process but interviewer did not turn on video function. Online assessments were easy but time was a bit rushed. 7 debugging questions for first assessment and coding challenge for second
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
I was contacted by the recruiter. The first round was a 20 minute non- technical phone call with the recruiter (discussed about my background and future steps). Then, an online assessment was sent. The OA consisted of 2 questions to be solved in 90 minutes.

Question 1
You are in charge of preparing a recently purchased lot for Amazon’s building. The lot is covered with trenches and has a single obstacle that needs to be taken down before the foundation is prepared for the building. The demolition robot must remove the obstacle before the progress can be made on the building.
Write an algorithm to determine the minimum distance required for the demolition robot to remove the obstacle.
Assumptions:
• The lot is flat, except the trenches and can be represented by a 2D grid.
• The demolition robot must start at the top left corner of the lot, which is always flat, and
can move on block up, down, right, left
• The demolition robot cannot enter trenches and cannot leave the lot.
• The flat areas are indicated by 1, areas with trenches are indicated by 0, and the obstacle
is indicated by 9
Input:
The input of the function has 3 arguments: numRows – number of rows
numColumns – number of columns
lot – 2d grid of integers
Output:
Return an integer that indicated the minimum distance traversed to remove the obstacle else return -1
Constraints:
1<= numRows, numColumns <= 1000
Example:
numRows = 3,
numColumns = 3
lot = [
[1, 0, 0],
[1, 0, 0],
[1, 9, 1]]
Output: 3
Explanation: Starting from the top-left corner, the demolition robot traversed the cells (0,0) -> (1,0)-> (2,0)->(2,1)
The robot moves 3 times to remove the obstacle “9”
