I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Amazon in Sep 2013
Interview
The recruiter communicated very little, and also gave me little time to prepare. Maybe he was rushing to meet a quota. I went into the phone interview not knowing much about the position, and inadequately prepared. The recruiter's emails were short and sparse, and lacked several details which I later found my friends had received from other Amazon recruiters.
The questions were not terribly difficult, but I wasn't well prepared. The interviewer was patient and very polite. He gave me a few hints along the way, but I could tell the interview was over as we spoke. Never got pass the phone interview. Lesson learned that I should have demanded more information and request for more prep-time that suited my pace. Felt like I was hit by a train, with everything happening in a flash.
I applied through college or university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Amazon in Feb 2015
Interview
Got this interview from career fair and was invited to a two 30min coding sessions.
Talked about the project in my resume and was asked the following three questions:
Are two Binary Trees mirror image of each other
Buy and sell stock to make maximum profit
Find a string in a rotated char array
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Dec 2015
Interview
It was a group interview. There were 3 or 2 people in each group. Each group has a project to do. 3 tasks in a project. You have to discuss with your teammates and assign every member a task to do. When you were doing the project, there were 2 interviews. In each interview, you have to talk with 2 people, and show you progress and result. You can use C++, Java, and Python to do the project. Java has eclipse, and C++ has VS. I chose Java.
