They asked me to implement a function that finds the first unique character in a string classic string/hashmap problem, but they wanted multiple edge cases handled upfront.
First, screening call with recruiter going over basic background.
Then, online coding assessment - relatively simple problem.
Then, 1 hour long interview with team member that consisted of background questions and one technical, live coding question, after which I received a rejection
