I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services (New York, NY) in Oct 2024
Interview
Comp negotations first with the recruiter, then a first round interview with the hiring manager via a Chime call. Generally straightforward process. Didn't end up feeling it was a good personality fit (age difference, I think) but it all depends what team you are on.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First round was mostly centered around things you've invented outside of work, how you'd tackle an on-prem to cloud migration.

Interview
Several initial screens by recruiters validating my experience and resume.
Then a circuit of 5 interviewers in the same day lasting over 5 hours. When I was done I was offered a different job from the one for which I had interviewed.
I interviewed at Amazon Web Services (London, England)
Interview
The Amazon loop is an unusual process that is exhausting. It involves meeting a series of interviewers over a day, each of which has a different perspective. Mine was all remote, performed from the comfort of my home whilst the interviewers were largely US based.
Started with a phone screen with the hiring manager, moved into a technical interview (~20 questions) and finally 5 1:1 on site interviews. Outcome on the whole process via phone call a few weeks after the last interview.
