It is very difficult to get an interview at American Express. Once you do, you have to interview with HR first, then junior members of the department before interviewing with the person you will actually work with.
I applied online. I interviewed at American Express (Phoenix, AZ)
Interview
3 interviews- one with hiring manager, one with VP, and one with a few directors. Each was roughly 30 minutes long and asked questions regarding interpersonal skills and related experience

Question 1
Have you ever had a negative experience with a fellow coworker/manager? If so, how did you handle it.
My virtual interview lasted 5 minutes with the HR coordinator. She told me about the benefits and then asked for my desired salary. It was way above the range. Also, I got ready for this interview and she did not even turn on her camera.
The reason I marked this as a negative experience is because she emailed me the next day to “follow up” and schedule an interview. The lack of attention to detail and disorganization looks bad on the company. I told her that we just had an interview and to let me know if there are any Senior EA positions that will pay within my desired salary range (I have almost 8 years of experience and I cannot take a 30k pay cut).
