Recruiter reached out first and then I applied through the link he provided.
He scheduled 2 back to back interviews the week after. The first one is technical (not live coding, more conceptual questions). The second one is mostly behavioral.
After passing that one, there was a hiring manager interview where I met the manager of the team and had a casual conversation.
HR called and gave a verbal offer the next day.
Good!
Seemed normal very typical questions they have a standardized interview process thay big companies have and the questions were not that surprising. Have your resume known and be ready to answer questions from the resume !
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Express (New York, NY) in Jun 2019
Interview
First had a phone screening with a member of the HR department. The interviewer had no insight or knowledge about the department or roles, but was able to clarify I was a real person.
Second round was with the hiring manager who was overall not a very nice person. She was upset that I waited by the elevators (as instructed to do so by HR) and did not come to the specific conference room assigned for the meeting. Overall, she seemed over the interview before it even begun and I personally had no interest in working for someone like this.
Questions entailed about me, my past experiences, and some strategic process/scenarios.

Question 1
I was given one problem solving question on how I would approach a specific situation related to the role.
