Interview
I was a part of the Apply hiring event one day before leaving for a 5 weeks. I indicated that at the event, and they were extremely accommodating and assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. I think the hiring event I attended was more low key than some of the others described, but very similar nonetheless, and there are ample reviews for an interested candidate.
I didn't hear back from them at all until a few days before I was returning home. I was called for a second interview after all that time. I really appreciate that they waited and remained interested. I went in for the second interview. I interviewed with a senior manager--it was relaxed and pleasant. He mostly spent the time getting to know me and allowing me to get to know him. He asked some questions about how I would handle communication with customers and coworkers, talked some about what training would look like, how the schedule works, and assured me that there would be a next step.
I waited about 6 days before getting a call back for another interview. I am currently on the fence, as I have just started another job. Frankly, it is a difficult transition to make, as getting into Apple is a long process, stretching for over a month at times. Even then, you may end up with part-time employment. I think this is a transition better made with some planning and strong confidence that it is where you want to be.
