I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Cupertino, CA) in Jan 2016
Interview
Everyone I interacted with was very friendly; the interviews tested a variety of mechanical engineering skills from your run of the mill beam bending problems to very specific product design terminology. It did not become evident until the final interview that they were looking for a high level of experience with materials and small-scale manufacturing.

Question 1
Identify the smallest tolerance loop for this mechanism design.
Meet on campus at a university event, left my resume with recruiters. Then they called for a follow up phone screen (30 minutes), but the interviewer was running late. They asked all technical questions, very much on the mechanical engineering and not product design side. Basic engineering fundamentals, beam bending, kinematics, manufacturing, and material properties. Was friendly and explained the job description well to me.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Apple
Interview
Was first contacted through email to schedule the first round of phone interview. The process was pretty smooth and the interviewer was well prepared. Then I was scheduled another round of phone interview where the interviewer didn't seemed that well prepared.
