I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BDO (New York, NY) in Sep 2015
Interview
Phone interview and then back to back office interview. Very casual. Positive experience. The interview process was what you would expect. The interviewers were very nice and easy to talk to. It was more of just a conversation instead of an interview.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BDO (London, England) in Feb 2016
Interview
After passing the online tests I was invited for an interview. I received this email on Saturday and had to choose from three time slots during Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the following week so it was quite short notice. I arrived at 11:30 for my 12:00pm interview. I was offered water and in general BDO was very welcoming.
The interview itself was quite informal. My interviewer told me a little bit about herself and how she got to BDO and assured me that she remembered what it felt like to interview and that she wants me to do my best.
First I was asked questions about my A-levels, why I chose my university and why I chose my degree.
Then we went onto the Competency based questions around their competencies and values
Then more specific BDO related questions:
- Why BDO, Why Audit, values and what are the other service lines
It was very relaxed and very straight forward.
I got an email the next day inviting me for an AC.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BDO in Oct 2015
Interview
I was invited to an office interview, and were asked competency based questions. I would suggest preparing in detail your answers for examples showing your teamwork skills, how you handled a conflict, your strengths and weaknesses, and do keep in mind their values
