Its a two way process, you are also selecting whether the employer is suitable for you.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BDO (Edmonton, AB) in Jun 2018
Interview
Attended the BDO Open House (which is very important). Very positive experience at the Open House. Was called for an interview for 3 weeks later. Interviewed with Senior Managers. Very different interview than most accounting firms. It was a conversation rather than Q &A. They want to know you as a person rather than a candidate. Extremely satisfied with the overall recruiting experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why accounting, why BDO, most liked/disliked accounting course, what do you do in your free time etc. Went through the resume and asked about the experience at each position.
I applied online. I interviewed at BDO (Troy, MI) in Oct 2018
Interview
Was contacted via phone for an initial phone screen. Questions were very basic and not very difficult. The recruiter sounded robotic and lacked personality of any sort. Did not feel any rapport with this person. Sounded like maybe her job had sucked the soul of our her, which made me seriously think I would not be a good fit for this company.
