I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at BNP Paribas (New York, NY) in Nov 2015
Interview
Easy interview, conversational and not very technical. Candidate before me, however, had about 4 brainteasers. Candidate has the power to do most of the talking provided that he/she sounds polished and knowledgeable. Two separate interviews, one fit interview with HR and one technical with a trader, salesperson, or structurer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What would you do if you came across a situation that had pejorative legal and ethical complications, but you were being forced to do it anyway?
Very technical for first round, asked a lot of mental math, bond math and brain teasers only one behavioural question which was tell me about yourself and why you applied
Did an online assessment and then an interview with a trader. Was not the easiest interview. Maths and brain teasers. The brain teasers specifically were not easy initially. Did not make it to the next round
Teams call with a director, Mixture of behavioural questions like why are you interested in markets, thoughts on ESG and also more maths/brain teaser questions like 3^6 and calculating percentage changes.
