I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BNP Paribas
Interview
Interview process is lengthy and drawn out. Its difficult for the firm to make hiring and overall business decisions. Expect that you will need to meet many of the same people numerous times. In particular at the senior management level. Since almost all senior management is located in Paris, this will typically be via conference call or video chat
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BNP Paribas in Feb 2012
Interview
I applied for Trade Finance Intern position. It took me 1 month to go through all processes. The interviews were not difficult. The first round, I was interviewed by head of HR. It was pretty much easy. The 2nd round I had a chance to talk with head of Operations and COO. They asked many tricky questions but mostly about myself, no technical questions.
Online application followed by 15 minute telephone interview. Interview mainly competency and CV based followed by a few technical and motivational questions. Started by asking me talk about myself and give a basic idea of the kind of person I am, before asking for examples of situations I have been involved in and then asking me why BNP Paribas and why investment banking.
