I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bain & Company (Bangkok)
Interview
I applied online. Received an invitation to a written test within 2 weeks. The written test was not very hard, it involves basic math like percentages and multiplications (beware of big numbers) and you can't use a calculator. After I passed the written test I was invited to a brief workshop about how to do a case interview and was appointed an interview date. There was two rounds of interviews. The first interview was quite hard. It was what I would call a stress test. The interviewer gave a seemingly very vague case and looked disinterested on my responses. The second one was quite easier and the interviewer more engaging. I failed to go through to the final interviews. I recommend at least a month of preparation.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is the reason to keep operating a company that was absolutely unprofitable?
What would your friends describe you?
Why would you want to work with Bain?
Ghosted by HR for Malaysia office after interviewing 3 rounds. Interviewed by associate, senior associate and partner. Typical consulting case questions. Not too difficult and employees were relatively personable. Would've appreciated better communication from the HR team instead of simple ghosting. do better
I applied online and got a online assessment after ~1 week. I completed the online test but I haven't heard back since then. The timeline is a bit uncertain to me.
First round case interviews. Got standard questions about profitability and market entry. IMO the most difficult part was reading complex charts and distilling the key insights with time pressure. There was little behavioral.
