The interview process for a Data Scientist role at Bain typically involves multiple rounds designed to assess both technical expertise and problem-solving ability. It usually starts with an initial HR or recruiter screening, followed by one or two technical rounds that include case studies, SQL, Python, or statistics-based questions, and sometimes a take-home assignment or business case. There are two rounds of interviews, with a recruiter and senior managers, preceded by an online test gorilla screening. The screening is very technical, each question you only get about 1 minute to answer. They are on either math, reading comprehension (similar to LSAT) or logic. The first interview round is a 30 minute case question as well as a 20 minute behavioural interview. The second round is more predominantly behavioural but does include another case as well.
