I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Barclays (New York, NY) in Dec 2010
Interview
Barcap's representatives are very nice in general. If you have questions don't hesitate to reach out to them. I contacted one of our alumini and he actually called back and gave me a mock interview before I went to the actual one. On the interview, I was asked to walk the interviewer through my resume first. He jumped in when he saw some interesting parts. He did a lot of talking along way too, so time passed really fast. Also asked why investment banking. Also a stock pitch and two simple brain teasers. I was pretty lucky to have an easy interviewer.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Barclays in Jul 2009
Interview
Got contacted by a recruiter for a Risk Analyst position in NY office. Went through a phone screening with the recruiter, then later with Barclays VP and Sr. Mgr.. Got invited to the NY office for a day. There're SAS test and math test sort of like GMAT math portion (be ware though, calculation is tedious and no calculator allowed). If you pass the morning test session, you'll proceed to afternoon session which consists of three 1:1 interview, including both behavioral and case.
