I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Pasadena, TX) in Aug 2012
Interview
I applied online and then took a horribly long personality quiz. My friend got a manager to pull my application the next day and the following day after that I came in for a 1 on 1 interview. The interview was with the HR administrator. It went well she was nice and straight forward. After the interview she asked if I could stay for a second interview with the operations manager. He seemed rushed but was still nice, honestly the first interview seemed more nerve racking than the second. Both interviews consisted of the same type questions, mostly behavioral, situational, and personality. The interview process was incredibly short only spanning 3 days, they needed cashiers bad because they had just recently fired a bunch.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Best Buy (Longview, TX) in Jul 2012
Interview
Was a very nice and calm interview. Very laid back environment. Managers seemed liked you're best friend whom you knew for years. Was the easiest interview anyone could ever have. Loved everything about it.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy (Palmdale, CA) in Aug 2012

Took about 3 weeks for me to get the job. Can take longer for other people. I went through 3 different interviews with 3 different people, last one being the GM. Interview process doesn't go this way anymore, you just interview once.
