I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Best Buy (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) in Aug 2009
Interview
First part was a phone interview with basic questions of why I would be the ideal candidate for both Best Buy and Geek Squad. I simply stated my experience in the field as a customer service representative. My past had a track record of 95% very satisfied or better ratings with my customers and the way I dealt with customers in a professional and polite manner. As well as my ability to listen, comprehend, and articulate solutions to people’s problems..

Question 1
What makes you the ideal person to work at Best Buy?
When I first applied, I was asked to submit a video interview first. A few days later, I was called in for an in-person interview. The interview questions were as expected. Some relating to technology but most about yourself and customer service. I applied for the Consultant position so I wasn't expected to know too much about computers.
The first round is a video interview where you record yourself answering 7 questions. The process was easy but you only get one try at recording. The video interview was not strictly based on geek squad it was very generic questions.
Online though a website where a person would show up and ask you a question and you would be given 2 minutes to answer the proposed questions. It wasn't too bad but it was a little on the weird side for the format.
