I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Best Buy (Minneapolis, MN) in Sep 2016
Interview
I applied online and received an email from a recruiter within a few days. She seemed very excited to get me through the process, setting up a phone screen right away. She was on time for the phone screen and spent some time getting to know me, asking about my resume, and then talking up the company culture and company performance. After a solid 30 minutes of chatting, she said she really wanted to get me scheduled for a Skype interview with the hiring manager as the next step. She then talked up the hiring manager, saying how great she is and how many years she'd been with the company, how she'd moved up in the ranks over the years, etc., etc. The recruiter seemed eager to get me moved forward and kept saying I was a great match. She told me she would follow up with me by the end of the week... and I was completely ghosted. Follow-up emails were not returned. A couple weeks later, I got a LinkedIn request from the recruiter, but no other communication. It was one of the strangest experiences I've had interviewing in recent memory.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy (Vancouver, BC) in Sep 2016
Interview
I was contacted directly by the hiring manager the whole process and there was no involvement from HR.
I applied online and immediately got a response from the hiring manager a few hours later asking for an interview a few days later. The first interview was a total of 3 hours and included a presentation/case study and 3 different individual 1:1s (the hiring manager, another colleague manager and a director).
The manager informed me that I would hear back shortly and less than a week later, I heard back about a second round of interviews. That interview was an hour long.
I was told that I would hear back after they interviewed one more candidate in 2 weeks. I got nervous because that probably meant that they were waiting to see other people and I wasn't their first pick... but exactly 2 weeks later, I heard back from the hiring director.
The whole process took a month from application to offer letter - which is very fast considering the complaints on Glassdoor. I was very pleased by how prompt they were on communication and how fast the process went.
