Interview
After completing the online personality test, I went into the Best Buy store before they called me to come in for the job fair. They basically told me the same things they were going to tell me over the phone. A few workers that saw that I was inquiring about the job, were nice enough to give me tips, hints, and tricks for the initial interview. The most repetitive thing was to smile. Which reminds me, there are three interviews. The more interviews, the higher up the interviewer is (i.e. the first person is the supervisor, then next is the manager, and the last is the general manager.) My only advice is to turn off your phone during the job fair even if your waiting for hours and don't get discouraged if there's a lot of people, they're probably using their phone.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy (Irving, TX) in Oct 2009
Interview
3 step process between supervisor, assistant manager, and general manager. store was going through management changes and took longer than usual. After each stage the interviewer would let me know i was going to get a second (and third) interview, if not selected to move on, they would just say they would let you know if they were interested. On final interview, if they are truly interested they will walk you around the store, your possible departments they would like you to work in, basic sales tools. Once general manager make decision the Operations manager gives you a call to come in to fill out paper work and consent form for background check and drug test paper work, with starting wage offer, it is either yes or no. I tried to negotiate and they laughed and said take it or leave it.

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Best Buy in Mar 2008
Interview
I applied on the Best Buy website for the Sales Associate position. I was told from a friend it was available, naming him as the one who referred me. I got a call in about a week for a face to face interview. The interview took about 30 minutes and most of the questions were very general.
