The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy (Santa Rosa, CA) in Sep 2010
Interview
I applied for the position at bestbuy.com where I took a somewhat lengthy personality test and filled out some information about myself. I was contacted a couple of days later to schedule an in-person interview for that Friday. The interview took about 30 minutes and consisted of going over my resume and asking a few questions such as, "Describe a situation in which you had to solve a problem on your own." The woman interviewing me told me that they would get back to me within a couple of weeks; it took them 3 weeks to get back to me, at which point I was then interviewed by the store manager. I then had to take a drug test which I only had a day to complete. As I was a student, this was difficult for me. It took them an additional 2 weeks to call me and say that I got the job, but not the position I applied for. I applied as a sales associate, but they hired me as a cashier. I took the job anyway and had to go through 2 more days of training. Best Buy, I could see this kind of selective hiring for a position in corporate, NOT a 3 month long seasonal job!!

The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Best Buy in Oct 2010
Interview
I am still waiting for someone to call me with an orientation time,I aced the whole hiring process from first call to drug test.Ive called numerous times for information on my start time,I was told by GM I had the job where I'd be working, salary, and first pay date.So what gives????I called twice was told Hr would call at a time of day,no call.I called back was told hiring manager would call in an hour and you guessed it,no call!I called a third time the same sales person answered for the second straight time and put me on hold he got back on phone told me I passed all tests I got the job and the managers are just busy, someone will call me back, that was 4 days ago still waiting!I passed all with flying colors was told I got the job so what is up?????I havent even started yet and Im already getting the run around I hope to hear from them soon I need this job and if Im not getting it just tell me so I can move on,I have never been through a process that went so easily looked like a slam dunk and was told i'm in,then this! I'ts like they dont care about my time or feelings,I see on here that Im not alone but for a huge company they need to practice what they preach.I really want this job in this economy I have little choice, but to wait if this was a few years ago I wouldnt take this, unfortunately I have to wait for a job I'm completely overqualified for but thats America in 2010,God help us.
