I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Best Buy in Nov 2008
Interview
I waited a long time for someone to interview me, which I heard is common for this company. I didn't mind because I needed a job. The interview was generic mostly- he read from a script and wrote down my answers. One thing I did find odd was that the manager conducting the interview brought in another employee to show him how the process worked. This made me uncomfortable, especially when I heard the two right outside the door discussing my answers, and pros and cons. I found out later that this other employee wasn't even training to be a manager, which I found especially unprofessional. Overall, I gave the usual interview question answers (which can be found at any job-seeking website) and was apparently qualified enough for a position in the Mobile Phone department, which I had no prior knowledge or experience in.

The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Cincinnati, OH) in Oct 2009
Interview
Starts off with a phone interview to check your communications skills and background. They will offer you an interview which is usually that week with a store manager. Much of the same questions but more questions on your experience followed by an interview with the store GM.
The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Best Buy (Boca Raton, FL) in Mar 2010
Interview
I applied on-line and took the mandatory personality test on a Sunday. By Tuesday I was called by an HR person who did a basic interview asking me about my interest in working for Best Buy, what hours I'd be available and what departments I'd be interested in, we then scheduled a 1:1 interview for that Friday.
I met with the Customer Relations Manager who was nice; he asked several questions pertaining to customer and interpersonal relationships, some of the questions required a bit of thought though. He then said he would call in a few days to schedule a third interview, which I'm currently waiting for.
