I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Knoxville, TN) in Jul 2011
Interview
Lengthy online interview, including personality evaluation. Three round on site interview conducted in one day - each round slightly different. First being a group introduction - and a sales scenario role play. Round of eliminations. Second round being more detailed team related questions - then sales role play, and then elimination. Third round is a one on one or two interview with the department manager and supervisor - questions will often be situation, behavior, outcome based and related to past experiences.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The role playing of the sales scenario. Basically you enact the true to life experience of starting up a conversation as a salesman, in a "natural" way - and lead into a sales pitch.

Interview
It was just one interview. I was hired on the spot. The nterview was in person and questions were very normal. Had a drug test after the offer. I was interviewed by the store manager. It was just one interview, with just the one person. It was not stressful. The job is not that difficult so they just need people.

Question 1
Nothing difficult really. They asked about stealing. Obviously it is never ok to steal. And it is never ok to look the other way if someone else steals. Even if it something small. I think the point wasn't really to see my answer but to drive home the point that Best Buy is focused on employee theft, more as a warning. It's a good idea.

Interview
Was pretty easy. It was unexpected that they contacted me. They wanted to wait until I was done with college for the semester. The interview wasn't bad. Taking all of the tutorials was brutal. After a few days I just kept pressing next without rereading the same material.
