I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Baltimore, MD) in May 2011
Interview
I filled out an online application after searching on an internet job board. I received a call from what I know to be a human resources manager. The questions were the basic, 'Why Best Buy' and my availability. I was then scheduled a 1:1. After the 1:1 with the first manager he decided to pass me on to the GM. The GM asked a few of the same questions, explained how the sales process should go, talked about the stock in the company going down and then passed some papers (Including the drug test release) to sign.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy (East Brunswick, NJ) in Feb 2011
Interview
Received a call from manager, after short phone interview was asked to come in for in person interview. She was nice and asked several questions. She said she would give me a call if I made the cut, received a call a week later to come in to interview with the general manager. He was amazingly nice and fairly grounded. Basically recap of first interview + a couple extra (i.e. Why Best Buy) offered a position and was told about the drug test. I dont do drugs so no worries went that after noon. received a call a week later and was told I passed (surprise surprise) and was scheduled for orientation. I know am selling computers already and I couldnt love my job any more than I do now.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Best Buy in Jun 2009
Interview
I applied online, and then after a few days I got a phone call/interview with the Operations Manager and was told to look for another call to set up a in-store interview. This took a few days longer than expected and I called the store asking about setting it up. After being employed here for 2 years I can see where it can take a few days to hear back with those who set up the interviews and the actual interviewers have very different schedules and many times can't make contact with each other until the end of the week. After getting my in-store interview, which was very quick and was basically to make sure that I could think, I was passed along to the store General Manager for him to give me a look over and make sure that he sees everyone that gets hired. After that I had to pass a drug test in order to get the official job offer.
