I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in Nov 2020
Interview
The Interview process took exactly 3 months to complete. I applied in mid-September 2020. I first started with the phone screening in the first week of October. I got scheduled for the technical rounds for mid-November. After the technical rounds, it took another 2 weeks for the recruiter to get back to me and I was scheduled one other technical round. After a week of that, an hour and a half long recruiter and Engineering Manager round was scheduled. After a week, I got a call and was rejected. The Interview process was too long and I was kept in limbo for quite a long time in between interviews. It made my life a whole lot stressful.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I did lots of Bloomberg tagged questions in leetcode and the questions came from them. I was also asked a design question so go prepared with that too. Expect 2 technical questions in each of the technical rounds. The engineering manager round is pretty tricky too. It depends on how lucky you get. Some only roughly go through your resume and have behavioral questions. I was asked discussion type scenario-based design questions based on the project on my resume. Go prepared!
Overall, it was a positive and professional interview experience, though the interviewer was on the stricter side. Unfortunately, I was dealing with an illness and wasn't able to prepare as thoroughly as I wanted to, which left me feeling a bit off throughout the conversation. Despite not feeling my best and facing a tough interviewer, the process was well-structured.
Fairly simple. Phone call then onsite. For onsite it was 10 min office tour follow by 1 hr interview then 1 hours system design and 30 mins manager interview. Interviewers were nice and the recruiter was accommodating.
5 rounds first 3 being leetcode coding ones and the last 2 being behavioral. The first three are the hardest asking mainly taggeed questions and the rest are not that bad
