After the recruiter screening, I aced the coding round and entered API/Interface Design interview. But it deviated from the given interview guidelines, while the interviewer didn’t seem prepared at all.
1) The interviewer changed from one meeting room to another and interrupted the video conference.
2) The interviewer didn’t notice or utilize the HackerRank link in the scheduling email, leading to inconvenience in presentation.
3) While the guidelines clearly listed API/Interface Design focuses for the senior MLOps engineer role, the interviewer wasn’t aware but ask for text search algorithms and parallel architecture. The interviewer even prompted for no ML/AI/LLM use for the text search, but reusing the news deduplication logic from the prior coding round.
Due to all the reasons, my strengths and skills were mis-evaluated and biased against the job requirements.
