Interview
I applied online .received a phone invitation two day later.they are very effective . I have the interview with one of the sale team leader . He graduated from lse Like a lot of people working in Bloomberg .
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England) in Apr 2016
Interview
After the submission of the application form and 2 online tests they sent me an email asking for my available dates for a phone interview in the following 3 weeks. The phone interview was pretty straight forward and mostly based on my CV plus some questions about Bloomberg and the role. The interviewer was very polite and kind. They told me after one day that I passed the first stage.
The second stage was a face to face interview 2:1 with the sales and analytics team leaders.
I didn't like at all this experience because one of the team leader was 15 minutes late, I was doing the shadowing and her PC was next to me, she arrived from I don't know where and she sat in front of her PC without even looking at me or saying anything like I was a ghost. I have seen clearly that she was looking at my CV. During the interview it was clear that she didn't read thoroughly my resume because she asked me unfounded questions about investment bank while I have never worked for investments banks at all and I don't have any financial background because I was a sales for IBM. The other interviewer was approximately invisible.
It was clear that they didn't care about getting to know me as a person and as a professional. They didn't ask questions about my background and past experiences but simply the standard questions I have found here in glass door. Questions that have a standard answer and that don't help to understand if a person could be a good fit for the role.
Lastly when it was my turn to ask questions they interrupted me because an hour was passed and there was someone waiting for the room. The only thing is that I was on time, they weren't and they stole 15 minutes of my time.
I am really disappointed and even if I really studied very well and spent days getting to know the company and all their products I felt like I lost my time since they weren't interested at all on my profile. This is an enormous lack of professional ethic and respect for me but also for the company because I think that the recruitment process is important and should be more accurate.
Obviously I didn't pass this stage.
A suggestion for who has the first interview face to face: don't lose too much time and if you can ask for the video interview, is better because you don't have to go there and you would also have the opportunity to look at your notes or at the internet at home. They ask a lot of questions about their products and you have just to study everything by heart so if you could just read it it would be better.
