I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England) in Feb 2018
Interview
The interview process consists of 4 steps: phone interview (about 45 minutes), team leaders interview (about one hour, a member of the sales team and a member of the analytics team), managers interview + shadowing (one manager from sales and one from analytics, plus 30 minutes shadowing with a member of the analytics team) and head of analytics interview
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England) in Feb 2018
Interview
An extremely long winded and draining process.
1) CV and online application
2) Video Interview: fairly simple questions about personal motivations and financial interest
3) Phone Language Test: quick phone call to test your second language followed by a short write up in the language about a topic covered in the conversation
4) Assessment Day: terminal simulation exercise and group debate activity followed by team leader interview in the morning. Manager interview in the afternoon if you pass the morning activities.
Overall the HR team were great but I felt as if the process was skewed towards Masters students who study a finance related subject. As the only person at the Assessment Day who was an undergraduate in a non-finance degree I felt at a disadvantage. Although I made in to the manager interview I was told my financial knowledge and interest was not fee enough.
