I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Singapur) in Nov 2018
Interview
I had a phone discussion with HR after about 1 week after my application. You need to go to their own system to book a slot for this HR interview. The HR round was pretty smooth and fast. The person sounded professional and friendly, there were only some basic questions: tell me about yourself, why bloomberg, etc. The HR told me that the role would be more on data processing, less on data collection, and reminded me that on the next round, the team leaders would want me to know clearly what the role is about.
After a few days, I was given confirmation for the next round which was a week later with the team leaders. I'm not sure if it was a curse or blessing that I came across a few negative reviews of the team itself in Glassdoor (team Global Data), and my interest in this position is consequently rather diminished. I went ahead with the interview still. And my interest was then completely destroyed. The team leaders were generally likable, though it's hard to describe them as friendly. Some questions were on your knowledge about the role (which, opposite to what the HR said, is actually about acquiring data), and your particular interest in the industry (finance). I didn't have such strong interest in finance, never invested in my life, so I totally understood that I would not be accepted. I really want to emphasize on the fact that this role would not be focused on the technology, so if you want to analyze data, get your hand dirty with all the tech, I dont think this role is for you (I was misled from the position name too).
The interviewers cared more about your communication skills (to get the data you need from sources - even by talking to someone to get it, instead of crawling it somewhere). So it was good for both me and the team that I was not accepted. About a few days later I received a rejection email, which I think is a great gesture coz it's always a pain waiting around for results.
Video, phone, assessment day, quit nice HR, test more on abilities, ovee all nice, video Qs are quite normal questions on the role and position, assessment day test skills, accounting information, industry information and analysis abilities
