I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in Jul 2020
Interview
Was ask to apply by a recruiter to apply to the New Grad software Engineer position after completing a Bootcamp. Didn't receive and offer but overall I appreciated the experience. The only drawback for the experience for me is that I was able to solve all the problems given to me with the optimal time complexity but did not get an invitation to move to the HR or Manager rounds.
Tips:
For the technical part, you aren't asked to compile your code. The focus is on how well you understand the problem and communicate your solution.
Focus on studying Leetcode problems w/ Bloomberg tag. All the questions I was asked were tagged on leetcode.
If an interviewer suggests a way of solving the problem different from how you are solving it DO IT THEIR WAY lol. Communication is key and before you start coding you should verify your interviewer has a clear understanding of your solution.
Phone Screen:
Basic questions about myself and my projects.
Technical Question which was a variation of LRU Cache.
Virtual Interview 1:
Balance Brackets
Build Balanced BST from sorted array
Virtual Interview 2:
Subway Systems
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Bloomberg in Jun 2020
Interview
Long application and then technical phone screen. Answered the first question with full code and pseudo-coded the second one. Had a nice conversation with the interviewer. Was rejected with no explanation.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Answer a basic LeetCode "easy" question and a LeetCode "medium" question.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Bloomberg in Jun 2020
Interview
Virtual onsite. First two rounds are easy / medium algorithm questions, the questions are very easy, but the interviewer are terrible, they just did their own things, and when you are writing code and asking them questions they just say "it's fine", "it's ok", but you know that they are just doing their own things, and then when I finished my code, the interviewer did not even look at the code, and ask me if I have any questions.
