The initial technical screening was pretty much awful. The interviewer pasted the problem description, which barely explained what needed to be done. He also failed to articulate the expected inputs and outputs. English being his secondary language didn’t help, either. Through very difficult communication challenges, I distilled what the problem actually meant minutes later. I passed this round and made it to the final round.
During the final round, one of the interviewers had a kid screaming in the background. He even left his desk at a point or two to hush him. They didn’t proceed even though I had solved both questions. But I really am glad because thanks to those reckless Bloomberg employees who don’t really leave their ego at the door and couldn’t really care less about the work they’re doing, I applied for FANG positions and now I have a final round. This probably wouldn’t have happened otherwise.
