I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Booking.com (Bangkok) in Nov 2016
Interview
The staff from Booking.com from Singapore called me on my phone. She spoke very strong Singlish (Singapore-English), and because of that, it was very difficult to understand. I had to ask her to repeat the question couple times even though my English is fluent because I worked as an interpreter with the American organization before.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Why do you want to work for Booking.com?
- How well can you work as a team?
- What do you think about the manager position?
etc
I've applied via their website and did two rounds of interviews. The first one was with someone from the HR and then the second one with a stakeholder.
The first one, HR was late 15 minutes and started the meeting telling me the vacancy was not available anymore - they decided not to hire someone. But them they suggested I applied to a senior position... and I agreed.
They schedule the call in the middle of my vacations, and I connected from my phone. Had an okay interaction with the stakeholder for 1h or more, simple questions, nothing complex.
I understood this was a behaviour interview, as the person was not from my field.
They wrote me a couple of days later saying they wouldn't follow with my process, although I was a cultural fit - they wanted someone with "more experience in complex projects" with sounded absurd at that point, when they didn't evaluate it.
This plus the sloppiness of the whole process let me quite disappointed.

Question 1
How do you leverage the difference between language A and language B?
During the appllication process, you need to take a translation test. If you pass, after the recruiter screening, there are two interviews: one with the team and the other with the hiring manager.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Booking.com in Oct 2022
Interview
Informal interview, professional but friendly atmosphere. Communication was smooth, invitation via email, prompt responses, flexibility in setting the interview date. The process included a test and three rounds of interviews.
