I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Boston Consulting Group in Nov 2014
Interview
One phone call with another product manager, one video screening with a senior product manager, and then three in-person interviews at BCG DV (Digital Ventures) offices. Early discussions were more about my professional experience, figuring out cultural fit, and aligning my expectations to the type of work I would expect at BCG DV. In-person interviews were more technical.
Process was at times very slow with long periods of silence from their internal recruiters, but each individual I spoke with was highly professional and courteous. Communication was done almost entirely through my recruiter.

Question 1
Nothing unexpected if you've properly prepared for a product manager or consulting interview. The most difficult questions were vague "how would you attack this problem" scenarios. Interviewer described a client challenge and the industry landscape, and was looking for a quickly outlined plan to begin testing and iterating on theories.
Great, concise, interesting conversations. Thought provoking questions and showed genuine interest. The earlier stages were intense and brutal with many people being met and spoken to. Too many rounds of interviews and repetitive questions

I applied online. I interviewed at Boston Consulting Group (London, England) in Oct 2024
Interview
The process took 2 weeks, I had a first interview with the recruiter and after I've met the hiring manager. Both were very nice and gave me a good impression, one of my friends though suggested me not to continue the process as she was working there and told me the salary I was offered was quite down compared to the company's benchmark. Looking back I wish I continued the project, I think she said that cause she didn't want me to earn more than her. She was promoted to senior level the past year.
If the company wants to find out more I'll be happy to give them more details.

Most BCG offices hold two rounds of interviews before making a hiring decision. If you've been invited to interview then you can count yourself as being in the top 10% of applicants. However, the work has just begun: the chance of passing the first round is around 25%.
