      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at British Airways (London, England) in Aug 2016

      Interview

2nd of August 2016 starting 07:30 a.m - Firstly was called in for a height measure test which involved reaching a brief case in an over head luggage compartment. We also had to hold onto the side of a cabin door (this was in a room made to look like an emergency exit / cabin area) and reach down towards a red tape which is hanging out the virtual cabin door. We then was asked to sit in the jump seat and fasten the seat belts to show we could fit in the seat and easily fasten the seat belt. I passed all three. They then ask you if you had any tattoos is you said no they let you go, if you then state you have they will ask to see it. The next stage was a short presentation of the airline and its values. We then was all taken back to the main seating area where we waited for our names t be called out. Some people where taken into the group scenario and others into the one on one role play scenario. I was taken for my one on one role play. As I walked into the room with the recruiter he asked me to read the card in front of me carefully when he has left the room and explained that when he arrives back in the room ( after 2 minutes) he will ask me to read out the whole card clearly and loudly. This was to see how confident of a reader you are and to see if your loud and clear ( As crew you will be making a lot of announcements on the aircraft.) I then had to deal with a passenger who had missed his connecting flight and was not happy and wanted to know what we could offer him, previous to this I did have to memories as much as you can the information that was given on the previous sheet of paper. They do not let you keep hold of the sheet they ask you to place it face down on the desk. I honestly thought I had messed it up and would not get through. The recruiter I had was very forceful and stern and i kept fluffing up parts of it, one of the main things I did wrong was not tell the passenger that they could only use the lounge services if they where a gold or platinum member. For me when I walked out the room I genuinely though I had messed it up and was a little down and shaky. The girls and boys where lovely who I was with through out the assessment day and every one tried to make each other feel at ease. When I came out of the room I was asked to sit back in the lounge area and wist for my name to be called for the group scenario. I waited around 20-30 ,minutes then my name was called out along with 4 other people. We was then taken into a room where there was 5 chairs around a table there was also 3 recruiters sat around us. We was asked to take a seat they then explained we would have 20 minutes to do the task. The task was that an aircraft we was flying on as crew had no food or amenities for the flight. We had a budget of £20,00 we had to then decide as a group what was a necessity for the flight and what was not .Our group did brilliantly and we all got along so well, we came to a conclusion easily and within good time. I would go as far as to say we was the A team and we would of worked brilliantly together as crew if it was a real flight. Then we all sat down and he started talking as if we hadn't go the job then out of the blue said well we are all please to tell you that you have all been successful and are going to the final interview stage! s ecstatic ! I couldn't believe it I was so sure I was going home. We was all then asked to once again wait in the lounge for our names to be called for the final interview. At this point I was shaking. Around 10 minutes later my name was called literally as quick as that. I was taken in by a lady who was lovely asked me where I had traveled from. I then entered the room to see another nice friendly looking lady. They talked me through how they will will be proceeding with the interview and that it will only be around 20 minutes long. The interview started and I honestly felt so at ease they where so nice. The main questions where around how I feel I can contribute to the role of Cabin crew. Why I want to work for British Airways and what I think it takes to become a crew member. What I currently do at the moment job wise. Explain 2 good qualities about myself. All in all i really enjoyed my experience it was nerve racking but as I have attended Emirates and I received an email the following day at around 17:00 p.m with an unconditional offer I am now in the referencing process :) eeekkkk !
