I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Broadcom (Matawan, NJ) in Jun 2012
Interview
Half discussions about prior experience, and half technical questions.
Interviewed by 8 people, mostly senior engineers, technical leaders, and management. Some C questions, some related to operating system, assembly level, or memory map related questions. C coding test with more emphasis on correctness than algorithm. Very friendly people. Good culture. High caliber team.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Broadcom (Richmond, BC) in Oct 2014
Interview
Very relaxed interview. The interviewer started by showing me the office and giving me a tour of the laboratory. He talked about what I would do as a hire and potential areas to explore. He also mentioned some of their issues and challenges seen by other students. Some of the quizzes were about my programming skills, knowledge of hardware, why I want to work there. He seemed to gauge my reaction to the lab as he said this is where I would be spending the most amount of time.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Broadcom (North Andover, MA) in Apr 2015
